Just a few steps from the sea, in a prime urban area of Jávea, this comprehensive renovation of a detached home preserves the traditional essence of the original structure while adapting the spaces and systems to meet the contemporary needs of its owners. The integration of large windows transforms the relationship between interior and exterior, blurring boundaries and connecting the living spaces to the garden, pool, and Mediterranean surroundings.

The design respects traditional materials such as lime plaster, terracotta floors, and microcement finishes, which flow seamlessly from the interior to the outdoor areas, culminating in the pool and barbecue zone. These choices create a dialogue between the authentic and the modern, preserving the home’s original character while incorporating contemporary design elements.

The fully renovated central core introduces an elegant staircase and a lift, significantly improving the home’s accessibility and functionality. Thermal efficiency is optimised with state-of-the-art insulation, advanced climate control systems, heat recovery ventilation, underfloor heating, and a photovoltaic installation, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and comfort.

The project includes significant structural interventions, such as the creation of large openings to maximise natural light and ventilation, the removal of walls between the kitchen and dining area, and the reinforcement of beams and floors, enabling a smooth and functional redistribution of spaces.

The home is organised across two levels. On the ground floor, three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms share prominence with the kitchen and living-dining area, which opens directly onto the naya. This covered outdoor space, designed for enjoying the open air, features a barbecue and summer kitchen adjacent to the pool, surrounded by a Mediterranean-style garden that invites relaxation.

On the upper floor, a spacious kitchen connects to the living-dining area through traditional arches, framing views of the sea. This level also includes the master bedroom, complete with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom, as well as another double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. A naya facing the sea completes this level, offering a unique outdoor space to enjoy the views and the Mediterranean breeze.

This renovation project, blending tradition with modernity, transforms the home into a contemporary retreat, respectful of its surroundings and fully adapted to the demands of modern living.
